Cheryl Gerber is a freelance journalist and documentary photographer based in New Orleans, where she was born. She is a regular contributor to The New York Times, the Associated Press, Renaissance Publishing, and is staff photographer for Gambit Weekly. Since receiving her degree in 1988, she has documented daily life in New Orleans, even through Hurricane Katrina and continues to do so.  Her work is represented by World Picture News and Atlas Press.  Her photographic style and stock photographs have been sought by major corporate as well as editorial clients.
